let me know tonight!!! thanks
hey i came across ls-vtec for sale.
what do you think????
LS-vtec motor for sale, engine is still in car, runs strong, i will be taking the motor out next week, its a B18A1 block bored to .40 over with CTR pistons and rings, ACL bearings, Micro polished crank, P72 head (GSR) , intake mainfold. $800
can i put that in my 1998 civic?
besides the fact that it wont pass emisions test?
and is it a good deal? i am sure i can lower the price to about 700
let me no tonight!!! thanks

yea i was talking to the guy about it, and i would also need an new ecu
and the tranny slipped my mind intell you mentioned it.
the b18a1 is from a 1990-93 integra
and emission for california states that
for my car to pass smog the only engine it can have is the one that came in mine when it was offerd in it when it was being sold
but to talk more about this. what makes the ls-vtec so good?
i havent herd much but when i heard people talk about them they make it out to be such a good thing?

LSV = cheap vtec. Sort of. To build it correctly will actually cost more than, say, a B18C would in the long run. For example, the LS bottom end isn't meant to rev as high as a vtec b18, so if you want to build an LSV that revs as high as it should, you'd need to either re-balance your crank or get a B18C crank. But a bare-bones LSV technically costs less than a GSR/Type-R (at the expense of reliability IMO).
Also, I wouldn't recommend an LSV as you live in Cali and there's something like a 90% chance you'd have trouble passing an inspection lol
