New Civic Manual Shifter Clunky?
Hi Guys
Just got my 07 Civic EX with manual transmission a few months ago.
Previously I had a 96 Civic with manual.
One thing I have to say I'm not liking, and maybe it's just my shifter, but it's incredibly clunky compared to my 96.
You can clearly hear it shifting (not the engine but the actual shifter)
Especially from 1st to 2nd. Sounds cheap and plasticky to me.
Does anyone else with the new generation manual civic notice this??
I was going to ask my dealer to test drive another manual when I take it in for an oil change to see.
Thanks
Curtis

RE: New Civic Manual Shifter Clunky?
Yes, clutch is fully in.
I remember my sisters 95 Neon stick made the same plasticky noise when shifting.
It makes the same noise even when the car is off and your shifting.
It's not the gear grinding noise.
The actualy noise from the shift handle moving it around from gear to gear.
Maybe it is my car if noone else seems to notice the same thing
