numbers after engine code
Hey do any of you guys know what the number after the engine code mean? For example i have a B16A, what is the difference between the B16A, B16A2, and the B16A3? Just was wondering why the numbers are there and what they mean. Thank you

RE: numbers after engine code
IIRC they are just to distinguish between the different engines, for example there are a number of B16 engine, all of them being 1.6L but the varisation differ in power and torque, for example, the B16A2 has 160hp and 111ft-lbs/tq, but the B16B has 185hp and 118ft-lbs/tq, but then there is also differing generations of the engines too for example, a B16A out of a JDM 89-91 Civic SiR has 160hp and 111 ft-lbs/tq, but the B16A out of a European 92-95 Civic has 170hp and 116ft-lbs/tq, so sometimes it can be confusing, but most of the time, there is only one engine, for a certain power band,
