You're right; could probably buy the entire car, part it out and keep the engine & end up with a 'FREE' motor!

Always used non synthetic 20W50. The motor is nice & tight, doesn't use oil, and has never smoked. With my leaking main seal, if I put synthetic in it now, it would probably all run out onto the ground!
