I only down shift when I need some torque, otherwise I use the brakes. I always say to people who use gears to slow down, It's easier to change the brakes then the clutch, not to mention a lot cheaper too.
RE: so i hit 41 mpg
I beleive that its not neccissary to shift into neutral while rolling down hills because when you take your foot of the accelerator the engine goes into fuel cut. and its illegal in my state the be out of gear while cruising down hills.

Illegal to be out of gear? Thats retarded. You only roll slightly faster then being in a gear going downhill. I dont see how that could be a problem. I do it all the time. Oh and btw 25mpg =(

The best MPG I've gotten is 33.8. Almost all hwy with speeds of 65-80MPH. I think "freewheeling" is illegal because of the possiblility of the motor dying,I do know it's illegal in Wisconsin.

in my old civic i got 45-50 all high way speeds of 70-75mph. in the summer with no AC (windows half way down or more) intake, cat back, lighter everything, partially stripped.. plus it was a dx...so no power stuff...and smaller injectors. i was looking forward to 55+ during the winter..but i wrecked it and the the REX...
RSX-S. about 34-37...depends on how many d-bags drive 10mph. under the limit...
