The Civic I'm buying has over 250000 miles on it, still running strong, has a ticking noise though, and the CEL is on.

I'm the original and only ownera 98' EX with 180,000 miles on it and haven't had toreplace anythingat all. It still runs and performes great. All you have to do is keep it maintained and they last forever.

my 89 is at 199,825 right now and putting on around 350 miles a week or so with school. but my 18th birthday is in 8 days so im going to have to cut back my driving a little alot because i think it would be cool to hit 200k on my birthday.

Many cars can last with good care. I had a 1996 Neon 5sp and rolled up 280,000 miles on it with only 1 replaced head gasket. Synthetic oil and sane driving. I now drive my wife's old 96 Civic LX auto with 143,000 now and I hope to see at least 300 k on that one. But her 2004 Accord EX 2.4 drives sooo nice I may want to upgrade before 300k....

I have 114k on mine, our CR-V we just bought was a killer deal for 11k at 80k miles, and they guy that sold it to me, a honda lot, showed me his 94 accord, he's got 410k on it and still swears by it. I thought that was funny, it was the best car purchase I have ever made, smooth exchange, nice friendly guy.

I won't ever go back. To ameican cars that is

clicking noise is probably valves needing to be adjusted. the CEL could be a bazillion things. lol

when you buy it, make sure you get the timing belt changed as soon as possible.
