So why are high mileage original motors so rare?

got a 94 eg d16z6 w/198k that im fixing to turbo, with perfect compression still and runs perfectly fine, keep up w/maintance and it'll run good and strong for a long time. hoping to get good power from an almost 200k motor..will see.

Uh...most people with original high mileage engines are still driving them...not selling them.
177K and all original motor.
That was NOV 2006
Now in the middle of Jan 07 I'm at 183K Wheeee.....run those tires off.

I have a 92 ex with just under 250 and it drives great, i'm thesecond owner and I will give it to my son in 8 years. It will be his first car and the only one I ever give him, so he better take care of it...lol
