You know, I always call my car an EG, but officially I think it's an EJ or something.

just look at your vin number
here's an example 2HG EJ6 32*TH 1 00001
2hg is manufactuere, make, and type of vehicle
ej6 is line, body, and engine type, or what we call chassis code
and the rest is other information that i'm too lazy to list, but you can find out what they all stand for in a helms manual
i got a 96 civic hatch dx, so mine's an ej6
