I tinted one of mine to see how it'd look.

I tinted it just like I tint windows, just use one big piece and stick it over the whole tail light. Then trimmed it around the lights and started smoothing out the bubbles. It worked fine, just took a few minutes to get the bubbles all out. The tint will eventually crack, but I just wanted to see how itd look.

There was a DIY I saw for doing this, for a old school Integra, and it looked awesome. He placed the tint, then used a heat gun to stretch the tint over the corners, and make it wrap tight around the edges. He left the tint on there for a while, then took it off.

so, i plan on ordering some VHT tomorrow online (i'll check auto zone first, but advance auto parts doesn't have it for sure)

do i need to use clear coat or is this stuff durable enough to last on its own?

and addiction, how did you get yours so shiny? I want to make mine that shiny, just not as dark.

i doubt auto zone would have vht tint spray.

my friend sprayed his honda accord tails and he used clear coat and it gave it a nice gloss. but he didn't use VHT no idea what he used. but i think VHT should be able to stand on it's own with no problem. but i would give it a layer of clear just in case. and after wards just polish it up

i have had a hard time with getting clear to have an even coat in the past
i guess i could probably do it

i'm gonna do thin coats of VHT and thin coats of clear. how long should i wait between coats?

when i had them tinted they never seemed to have anything go bad with them... tho i pulled them off to do my custom lighting on them BUT never followed thru with the custom lighting on them, and when i got my 96dx i sanded em down/ shined em up alittle and slapped em on it....
