Default Transmission issue in Honda Civics

I plan to buy myself a Civic Model of 1998 - one that was manufactured for the european market - that is, a Civic Aerodeck (1998).
Looking at the ads on the Internet, I wondered why almost all of the cars that are for sale (those with low mileage) have around 50-54000 km (no more, no less).
Do you know of any flaws of the automatic transmission that the Civics might have? I mean, if you ask me, there is too big a coincidence that they are all in this range of mileage. Quite weird, I would say!

If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Thank you all!

P.S. I will not re-open the subject on whether automatic or manual transmission is the best. But if you feel like it, I would appreciate any suggestions!

Civic gearboxes are very strong. I really abused mine and it didn't show any trouble, and my 93 Civic had 150,000 miles when I sold it...

...maybe everyone is selling their Civics due to age?
