H and A accessories sells 'six packs' of oil filters 15400-PLM-A02 for 27.19 (thats $4.53 ea!)
H and A sells one for $5.15, and the dealer charges $6.94ea.
I don't know what shipping would be though.

Yeah, as Trust says, this seems to be a bit too frequent for oil changes, based on my reading. Do you change the oil more often for the ultra-cold Canadian winters?

i was looking at that site, shipping is 6.84 (the cheapest one) for the pack of six. and the total including tax would come out to $36.14 that is about $6.02 each. I think i will just buy individually at the dealership unless i find one that's cheaper with free shipping. although it is cheaper to get online, but i think i will just buy it as i need it.

right now i am going with mobil 1 synthetic oil with honda oil filter and will be replacing every 5,000 miles. does that sound right? are there better synthetic oil out there?

I've always changed my oil using Castrol oil using a Fram filter around 4000 miles. I had about 300,000 miles before my first rebuilt. Only reason for the rebuilt because I had a blown gasket.

I think Fram filters are adequate if you do regular oil changes and don't drive like the stereotype teenager. Can anyone point me to some good literature that objectively rates oil filters? As you may have guessed, both quality and price represent key factors in my choice of oil and oil filter. I won't purchase the so-called best product if I don't believe it's worth it.

I don't know where to find any proof that they are bad, just also what i've heard. You may consider using Purolator Gold filters. They're like $4, and work well.

I use an STP filter and whatever quality 5w-30(dino) that's on sale at the time.
I change it every 3000 miles.
