What is the plastic stuff in my door panel for??
I took apart my door to re-align the window and noticed a big plastic sheet across it. i can't figure out what that would be for. Keeping rain out of the electronics?
I want to remove it because I fear it's going to vibrrate horribly when I get my new comps/IDQ 12's put in.

It's insulation, and basically yeah - it helps keep moisture off the backside of the door panel.
It's "supposed to"keep the air from blowing through the door, helping separate the warm inside, from the cold outside, or vice versa. But when the window's up, and the rain's falling, it's another moisture barrier as well.
I say use aluminum duct tape (not the standard Duct Tape, it'll fall apart after awhile) and tape the crap out of it.

WELL TYPICALY... that plastic is TRASH... ill tell ya a quick fix tho.... go to LOWES or some other hardware store and find some heavy duty plastic... i got some from lowes around thier painting section.... i bought the thickest stuff i could find. comes in a small roll if you think its to thin then i would simply double it up.. and just use some duct tape all around it to seal it to the door....
cause typicaly that original plastic layer is all FRIED and crispy as hell... no way to remove without it busting out. ive had to just use plastic on just about every one of my vehicles ive ever had.... including my old 66impala
