won't turn over
I have a 1990 honda civic dx. I recently drained my battery(left lights on). I recharged it and all was well went to work... came out and it wouldn't start. I push started it to get it home... it drove fine. My headlights and dashlights come on. Tried jump starting it and that wouldn't work. Checked the starter and thats fine.... so ??? any suggestions? alternator? fuses?
Take it to like autozone, murry's, pep boys and have them to a battery conductance test, the test will tell you if teh battery is still good. The best part is they can test a totally dead battery. I don't think the battery even needs to be in the car.
battery probably has a bad cell or it doesn't and your alternator is not charging it and your bascially running on battery alone. fastest way to tell is take a volt meter and start the car with a new battery and see what the voltage at the battery is. if it is above 13.5 alternator works. if below 13 volts alternator not charging properly.
