Hey everyone,
I just bought a 99 ex civic and a few times, i have been unable to get the car to turn over. The lights and radio work fine so i dont think it is the battery, but when i turn the key to the start position it just "clicks" once and i can hear a low hum and thats it. I didn't think it was a real problem until today when I can't get it to start and i've been trying for the past hour. Any suggestions on what it could be? Thanks!

 

Sounds like a crapped out battery not holding a charge. My 99 ex did the exact same thing a freakin week after I bought it

 

Clean the battery terminals and inside of battery wire ends, check the wires to see if they are damaged, make sure both ends of both wires are firmly connected. That would be the place to start.

mine did the same thing for a while. I went and bought a battery, and all it was was a loose battery cable.

 

could be a bad engine ground also
