are you sure they sent all the right stuff?
it looks like in the pic, only one box of the 3 says bi-xenon on it, and that box also happens to be the one with no cones in the bulbs

well they are all bixenon. they all have the built in magnet and tiny wiring on them.

i sent him a email and see what he says.... i dont think it will be a huge issue because the headlights do have a front cone kinda so it shouldnt make a big difference....
and right now im just waiting for the sun to go down now to get some nite shots and adjust them better. so far im pretty happy with them. tho i do hate the headlights.LOL i need to buy some oem black style headlights, seal them up and slap them on the 99 civic and put those chrome oem style headlights on this 96dx civic.

i have to eventualy slap the second set onto the 99 pretty soon as well! it just has standard hids with the weak @ss halogen high beam.

ok well been awhile since i updated anything.....
havent been able to do much with all the packing for my parents motor home... they are gone to florida now so now i have enough time to work on my car BUT still trying to get some money to buy the parts i want/need to keep worken on it

right now im finally pieced together everything i need to convert my 96 air controls to 99-00. i bought the complete air box and wire harness, and vents from local parts yard tho i did break a flapper on it when pulling the unit but luckely i was able to glue it back together and so far the fix looks like it should work! i hope it holds... if not ill have to try and find another electronic heater section. but it looks like it should hold just fine, luckely it wasnt a clean break and it kinda had a cone snap from the center shaft.

tomorrow ill drop my dash out and swap out my whole blower unit...
at least my ac wont be a problem since i never put it back together and recharged it yet.LOL tho i do have to mess with the heater core
only thing im missing for the swap is the radio bezel which SUPPOSEDLY SHOULD be at my house monday!

but i can at least get the whole blower unit in and just wait for the radio bezel to come in the mail.
i hope this swap goes smoothly!

after this swap ill swap out my front seats with the 99 civic front seats and then the ONLY THING left to make my 96 look just like a 99 will be the rear seats.
guess good thing i kept those 99 seats out from my old 94civic after all....

and next paycheck i buy primer and bondo to start the body work on the 96 and check after that will be the paint and clear, hopefully ill have most the body work done by then.... im gonna try one more thing before i actualy use filler is the dry ice to try and pop out some of these small hail dents on the roof and trunk lid. i dont plan on it working completly but every little drop of bondo not used is worth it IMO!

paints the main thing this car really needs right now!

ok well today i got my 96system removed. tho afew wires on the dash that are being a PITA so i couldnt fully remove the dash to do all the work. mainly wires from my alarm system... but o well. still enough room to get what needed to be done for 1 afternoon.

and my repair that i THOUGHT would be good on the new heater box was not good after all.... good thing i checked before i slapped it all in!!!!!! luckely my old 96 box uses the same components for the most part... so i was able to pull the 2 boxes apart and just swap out the flapper that broke.... unfortunately when i removed the 99s air controls i didnt know there was a bolt on the back side/firewall engine compartment that holds the box inplace from the rear and i busted it off unfortunately.
tomorrow ill try to cut off my good mount section and try to glue it to the new box. hopefully it will be enough for a firm mount...

and thats the flap that goes over the heater core so if i didnt fix it could really screw up the heater/ac features!
Name: 0026a12c.jpg

got the old flapper inplace and everything screwed back together ready to go in.
and yes duct taped BUT thats because the 99 i got it from was a 4door that had air vents ran down the bottom that flow to the back under the seats. mines a coupe so i dont need lower rear air... so i slapped some duct tape over it and put that solid flap inplace and then duct taped it again to hopefully keep it inplace.... if it ever falls off then ill glue that sucker solid. but not right now my back is killen me from contorting my body so much.LOL

i think my old heater core was leaking so im using the 99 one...

tomorrow ill slap it all together, and HOPEFULLY my honda dealership will have those 2 heater hoses instock... since i never reuse old hoses!
hopefully all works good and ill have my 96 converted over to 99-00 style!

only thing im still not positive on is how to wire the defroster... i have to try and find that info... tho the defroster isnt a huge deal because I THINK thats for the rear defroster and i park my car in the garage so i dont have a problem with freezing over in the mornings
eventualy ill find the info i need to rewire it properly.... if i have to i can always just slap the stock96 switch under the dash.LOL

anyone need the blower/resistor unit for a 96-98 civic or heater controls? i dont need them anymore....

i like the ex seats alot more... mainly due to the passenger seat that slides forwards when the back is tilted forwards... plus theres a thicker bar under the seats that my guns hooks onto alot better!

anyone have some ex rear seats for a coupe?
i need this style....

OK DAY 2... i have the new unit installed now. have the dash put back in MOSTLY.
everything works good so far BUT the dealership didnt have those heater hoses instock so they had to order them..... HOPEFULLY they will come in tomorrow and ill finish everything....

only downfall is the bottom mounts for the 99-00 controls dont bolt up to anything... im not sure if theres a brace i could just buy so it bolts up.... ill compare them when i pull my radio out of my 99ex to swap the radio into the 96dx if the guts look the same and the brace is interchangable then ill go back to the pullapart and buy the brace. BUT if not ill just use some heavy duty zip ties and use them to hold the metal bracing tight against the metal skeleton! it will hold it just fine im sure! but ill find out tomorrow when i swap the radios.

and if you ever drop your air box.... be sure to clean out the debri before installing the unit!!!! mine had TONS of debri in it..... im glad i cleaned it out otherwise it would have been alot of odd noises with the blower turned ON! and no one likes rattling leaves sounds when you turn the air on! LOL

Sooo, are you doing to swap just to have it look like a 99-00? or does it make extra space?? LOL, It looks like a crazy ton of work to change the look....

...oh, wait, I may or may not do the same thing all the time.

Keep her up! Are you getting a screen in that slot or something?
