Yea, some people hate the look, but it's definitely function over form. I have heard that the header is more prone to rust/cracking. If water gets in there, it will be sealed in causing rust. It could crack because so much heat is being contained, that it could potential crack the tube to allow the heat to escape.

Kinda like a give and take sorta deal. I feel like I need it since my intake temps are already too high with the SC.

Well, I think I have some bad news. Ever since I ordered it, I have been having this nightmare that the seller had no idea what they were selling, and just labeled it a d series header.

I matched up the bolt holes to the spare exhaust manifold/cat off a y7, and sure enough, they don't line up. I will be emailing the seller immediately to try and figure this out. Once again, another moron seller on ebay. Paypal dispute here I come!

Edit: sent him an e-mail, I'll give him until Monday to reply. If I don't hear from him by then, I will be opening a case with eBay and Paypal at the same time.

Well, I can officially say that Craiglist is a total waste of time. I have gone through 3 different potential buyers that set something up with me on a particular day and time, and then either never call to say they are on their way, or never show after such a call.

Hoping I will be able to sell this header somewhat quickly. I need this project to get back on track.

Santa came by with some $$$ for me for the Civic. Once the header is sold, I will be buying a new header,clutch/flywheel, and fog bezels/adaptors/velocity stack/couplers to finish the intake duct set-up.

Now, I hope to be able to eventually put down somewhere around 200whp/185wtq...something like that. Stage 2, or Stage 3 clutch do you think? I am leaning towards stage 2. For the flywheel, I am thinking of going with a 9.5lb chromoly. For the brand, I'm probably going to go with a competition clutch. A buddy of mine has one and never had one issue with it for over 5 years. He beats on his car daily. Hoping to have this done within the next 2 months or so.

Afterwards, I will be getting the car painted. Yay! I think I have decided on a gunmetal color. Something like the Acura TL type S Gunmetal (just a hint of metallic).

So I have been toying around with the idea of cutting little vents in my hood in order to help air flow for the intake system. I made a new intake wall "shield" which will "seal" with the hood when shut. Pics will be once this rain and **** stops. (BTW, it's 12/26 and it's a rainy, humid 50 degrees out :P)

When the car is moving, air will be brought through the fog bezel, and up into the intake duct which will be lead to the filter. I was thinking that these vents I would create will assist with the intake system breathing better at a stand still. I also think that they would allow any extra air to fly out as I am driving around, too. Remember when I said I had about a million different ideas for the intake system and trying to cool it down?? I wasn't kidding

Here's a beautiful MS paint work of art for my idea. This would have to be done and completed by the time I get the car painted. I will not touch anything exterior wise once the car has been sprayed.

Of course, they wouldn't be holes chillin' in the hood. I would want some type of filter material in their to prevent water from just dumping onto the filter when it is raining. Any thoughts? I think this would help with the flow and possibly cool the intake temps down a bit possibly. Also, I would want to have spare hood in case it doesn't work out as I plan. A big part of me wanting to do this would be the fact that it would be bad *** to hear me coming, you look back and see this slammed gunmetal Civic with this vent on the hood. Not some cheesy rice vent which wouldn't serve a purpose. You would be saying, "WTF" as you hear the supercharger scream when I'm behind/passing you and then only the Apexi WS2's nice tone as I am in front of you still accelerating.

^^Thanks. Once the car is painted and I get a spare z6 block, the project will really be moving.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not, but these are my plans for the bottom end.

z6 block with 0.5mm overbore
75.5mm D16a1 pistons
shotpeened rods
ARP rod bolts
micro-polished crank
New OEM bearings
replace all seals
This should bring my compression to about 11.5:1. Upped compression should help out my torque numbers even more in the lower rpms.

Mmmmmmmm......ooooooooooooooooo... yea, I'm a torque junkie.

Oh yea, I will have the meth injection system set-up before doing the bottom end stuff, too. I will probably go with an AEM kit. Looks like it'll be about $330. Anyone with suggestions for the meth. injection kit that may be cheaper?

Sooooooooo.... Quick update just for fun.

1. Finally have at least two solid people who want to buy the header off of me. That should be dealt with soon.

2. My clutch pedal is starting to feel like it it is grabbing wayyyyy high. Dun dun dun! This clutch just needs to last a little while longer...

3. I heard a clunk noise driving to work this morning, but nothing was wrong with the car. Probably a chunk of a dead frozen animal of some sort.

4. That's about it.

Drained, flushed, and bled the clutch fluid. A nice milky dark chocolate brown liquid was in there. mmmmm... Next, will be the brake fluid (same thing)

\/ My plans for 2010, yo! \/
- 4-1 Header (wrapped of course)
- Finish intake set-up
- Clutch/flywheel
- New oil pan/gasket
- Boost gauge
- Dual gauge bezel pod
- Finish interior (Re-wrap other headliner, re-paint pillars)
- Paint!
- Meth. injection kit

Without paint, I plan on spending around $1,000. Paint/body work should be around $1600.

I have been thinking about going with a SPEC clutch, rather than a Competition Clutch. Anyone have any experience with SPEC?

your ideas sound great. cant wait to see what the finish product looks like. i was thinking the same thing for more cooler air into the sri that i have. not the gills in the hood, but a pipe that will go from the bumper, suck in air, and push it to my filter at the top. dont know how thats going to work. but ill try it when it gets warmer out.
