Darn. Nevermind. He apparently got 5 responses through his Craigslist ad before I said anything. Si rims ARE a high demand item after all.

I'm having problems with my research component of this build. This is where I'll need some internet ninjas to help me with some info. I'm trying to compile a list of all the differences between a Civic Si and my LX but the internets aren't cooperating. 6th gen info is buried under 7th and 8th gen info. I'm relatively sure that the only differences between my LX and an EX are the engine and lack of sunroof. So far, this is what I've got:

LX-Si:
sunroof/moon roof (not feasable for this project)
Rear disc brakes/4040 prop valve ORDERED
B16a2 engine/ECU/Tranny/axles
Si rims (still hunting)
door tweeters
interior color (my LX=brown. Si = black?)
steering wheel cover (oem black leather cover)
suspension tweaks (tower bar/strut bar/etc)
fog lights = standard DONE
front and rear lip standard?
sexy Si spoiler
Si grille (waiting for paint)

Anything to add to the list? I keep seeing "Si CD players" for sale, but they look just like the oem one I already have. That, and "Si climate control" which looks the same too.

Just a thought. Might be cheaper and faster to sell the LX and buy an Si.

dito... urs is a 4door so the spoiler probably wont fit right due to the trunk lids being different.

and the climate controls are simply a amber color bulb i believe.
and the full interior color swap.... well the dash is easy to find but ALL the other panels.... well good luck unless you plan on painting your parts but i must warn you painting interior parts is a hit or COMPLETE MISS.....

like he said i would just sell the 4door and look for a SI it will be alot easier and cheaper most likely.
not trying to be a d***. but your talking about ALOT OF WORK!!!!!! and a long time of just searching for parts!

Where's the fun in that? Besides, 6th gen Si's didn't come in 4 doors.

Sorry, I didn't want to spoil your fun. Just wanted to make sure that you had considered another option.

I'd LOVE to pick up an Si, but the 6th gen Civic Si just doesn't exist in Little Rock. There are only 4 that I've seen. (It's a small city.) There are no 6th gens in the junk yards, period. Much less any Si's. The only ones close by that I've seen for sale were in Memphis, and were overpriced.

What else do you do when you can't easily buy what you want? You make it. heh, I'm not calling this the Bastard Si project for nothing... it's more like a poor man's Si. It may take some work and a few bucks, but I'll get something built up.
