12.7:1 compression.
With low octane at the compression it will combust before the pistons are at tdc. Which is bad, higher octane prevents this.

oh now i understand. dumb question but i have heard alot of different things about how octane boost or higher octane can damage your engine.

ya if youre lower compression is normally not good without boost. Also first page edited.
there is no such thing as a dumb question if you are learning something.

jpnolan, looks like the idle has been tweeked, a lot better.

I posted it for exactly the reason stated by ej6buddy.
Much better idle after putting on the cai.
Pics of install. For the cai on a ef you actually have to make cut in the body. I used wire cutters and a hammer lol.

Are you going to fab up part of a fender liner to protect the filter from flying debris. I know a full fender liner won't work due to the drop, just wondering if you thought about it.

I used wire cutters and a hammer lol.
where's the facepalm smiley.

No haven't really thought of one yet im thinking a reverse mud flap?

Dude it worked hella well. The tiny screw that holds the cutting wheel for my dremel broke..... wtf.

no, i don't see you taking this thing off-road..........lol. I'm sure you can find an old fender liner from a junkyard and trim it accordingly using the factory clips ( clean install)

and yeah, the same has happened with me, mine was just worn out though.
