Like i ever have any progress on my hatch anyways ha idc...

*Edit: oh and BTW the cheapest exhaust quote i got was $180 at a no name muffler shop who does half assed work. Midas was second lowest w/ $235 i think it was. But since i was informed that my cv boot was broken my axles gotta get fixed first. Thats priority ovver my muffler. i mean really there isnt anything wrong with it other than the fact that its getting annoyingly while stopped cause it vibrates so much and such. Ill get it replaced later on in college hopefully this fall.

So everythings fine now, the axle has been replaced. Cost me a total of $273 (or about that much). So im feeling a little light in the wallet right now but overal it wasnt too bad it couldve been worse.

I move into my college dorm in exactly a week so no progress will be done on my car anytime soon BUT now that i will bein college i will be able to buy parts w/o my parents input so thats more fun for me than the whole college idea itself

You are exactly like me. I think every aftermarket part I put on my car my parents were not given notice of until they saw it on the car itself. Well I move in one week from tomorrow so goodluck to you!

next time start investing in the tools to do the job
only need a few tools to change axle, main thing is a socket large enough for the axle nut and a break bar or a 1/2inch ratchet and the handle from the jack to make your own break bar
then standard set of metric sockets, then a large screwdriver or small crowbar to break axle loose from tranny, then a tuning fork and a big hammer.
if you already had standard tools you could have invested in special tools and had them for life then i think my axle was only like 65-90bucks i think with lifetime warranty. either way it beats the hell outta paying a shop to do it and your also growing your tool collection little by little and getting smarter about fixing your car yourself for next time or even help out a friend. i dont like paying shops for anything i cannt do myself.

A2B; yea see i dont have all that crap and am moving into dorms anyway so kinda pointless to buy them now just for my dad to use :P But i was prety pissed though found out this other shop wouldve done it for $100 minus the parts and i could get the parts for $67 i think it was so again i got hosed but whatever i know it was done right haha

So just gotta bag everything up tomorrow and move out on Sat morning haha super excited

Got my oil changed today so no worries for college for a while wish me luck guys! Btw getting a waiting job at Applebee's or some steakhouse so thats exciting too!
