Kenny-g's 98 CX Project
I did it myself, it is really pretty easy if you the right tools. Except since I did mine my axle seals been leaking... and I've pulled the axle 4 times now to put new seal in, reseat it, blah blah blah. My solution? Swap haha.
My new axles was like $60 at Napa, and I got $12 back for bringing my old one back as a core. I think it is Checker who has lifetime warranty axles, great for high hp cars that destroy them.

^ That's what it is, couldn't remember. My friend buys em once and runs em on his 450 hp boosted gsr lol.
Mitch what should I do about my leak? I put a new axle in, it leaked. I pulled the axle, put a new axle seal in, it leaked. I pulled it again, put rtv around the seal, put it back. Lasted a few days leakless, and it started up again. And I know it is coming from the axle seal because it is wet around there and it kinda slings some fluid on to my subframe.

Haha thats your solution for everything lol idk i could do it myself but i work 6 days a week and am gonna be outa town for one day technicallly but whatever. i dont have itme to do it myself at home and my dad and i deff prolly wouldnt do it right. Idk id rather have a pro do it.
Damn why couldnt ya'll live closer to me, i would love the buisness.
Scott: When you put the axle seal in it has to be in perfect. If its not straight or to far in it will leak. I say pull it and install a new one. Rub oil on it and use a wood block and tap it in.

It is pretty straightforward if you have the tools. Take off the axle nut, take off the front strut fork from the lca, take off the lower ball joint (use the fork spreader with an air chisel or the ratchet between and stomp on the hub method), pry the old axle out. The hardest part is getting the new axle actually in. They have a lil metal c clip that has to be in the center to let the axle go all the way in. So what I do is put grease on the c to hold it in the middle, it'll take a few tries. You could have it done in a few hours as your first time.
I wish I lived by you Mitch haha, go along for the trails and I could use an extra set of hands! The seal sits flush to the case, correct? And do you put HondaBond/rtv around the edge of it?

Think I really should buy another? The one I have is probably a month old and only been pulled once. Last time I put it in I put one side in a lil bit and with my hands pushed it the rest of the way in.
