Reaper's Mustang Project (abridged version)
I wouldn't call spending $30 on rhino lining or a like product, and $30 on paint to do my front and rear sway bars continuing the project. Like I said, I'm going to keep doing small things that don't cost much, but I'm not exactly going to bother trying to afford a $3600 suspension setup or anything like that until I actually have the money
And you realize june 19th is 2 months away, right? I think I can hold off on big spending for 2-3 months lol

W00t! The rear sway bar came in yesterday. I'm not going to paint it just yet (maybe some other weekend), but it'll be installed today. I'll have pics up tomorrow since I forgot my digital camera back at my apartment.
*edit: I also got bored yesterday and decided to mess with my tune. The ignition timing is now advanced 1* from 2,000-4,000rpm, and from 4,000-6,000 it's advanced 2*. Also, in about two weeks, I'll have the car on a dyno to figure out where I am power-wise at the moment. $20 for a dyno pull isn't bad, and the dyno day is actually a fundraiser for a family whose 2-year old has cancer, so I wouldn't mind paying even if the price was higher.
*edit #2: Well, as it turns out, my dad has our floor jack and jack stands in his shop currently, and I didn't really feel like driving a 20 mile round trip to put a rear sway bar on, so I'll be putting the bar on monday, most likely. Instead of installing the bar, I decided to give the car a bath, inside and out. I'll have pics up tomorrow since I have no way of getting them from my phone to my laptop until I get back to my apartment. My car now smells like happy (I used some of that glade carpet cleaner stuff on the entire car (trunk included)), and is currently spotless, inside and out. I'll probably invest in some armor-all detailing products and go to town making everything shine next weekend.
Also, I decided to pull the stock spoiler off for now. Personally, I think it gives the car a much more aggressive look. The only downfall is that the holes are visible (I threw some red electrical tape on the underside of the holes to keep water out of my trunk) on the top of the trunk, but it's more of one of those "it isn't pretty but it works" type deals. After all, the stock spoiler was only back there looking pretty anyway; it doesn't do anything for in-car road noise, nor is it an airfoil shape to increase downforce. Right now, I'm between keeping the spoiler-less look and doing the Saleen S281 spoiler when I get my carbon fiber trunk. I guess I'll have to wait and see how the car looks spoiler-less with a drop and the Rotas before I make my mind (after all, I really don't want to drill holes in carbon fiber if I end up deciding to go spoiler-less, not to mention the fact that the $300 + cost of paint for the S281 wing would be wasted). Again, pics up tomorrow night.

well, finally have pics
First off, the new (to me) 24mm rear sway bar:

Next up, the reason for the cylinder 1 misfire last week... and yes, I LOL'd when I pulled the plug wire and saw this:

That might've been a little bit of an issue lol
Anyway, on to the cleaning I did yesterday:

Just a little bit of junk accumulated under the seats since I put them in
The seats before cleaning:

The seats after cleaning (you really can't tell, but they're a lot cleaner):

After a little vacuuming:

After scrubbing, more vacuuming, and carpet cleaner:

I wish you could send smells through the internet... the interior smells amazing now lol
And the interior put back together (with anti-seize on the seat mounting bolts... they were a PITA to get out so that should help a little for next time I pull the seats)

And now, wingless pics... the more I see it, the more the look grows on me... looks like I might be saving the $300 I'd otherwise be spending on a Saleen S281 wing

I think it helps make the car look a lot sleeker. I'm sure it'll look even better with a good drop and the staggered 17"/18" wheels
Hopefully I'll have the rear sway bar on the car tomorrow... I doubt I'll paint it considering I don't think it'll bolt up to the IRS I'm going to be swapping in this summer/fall... so I'll wait until I do the suspension work to paint the sway bars. Also, I think I'll get the Rotas in black... that way, I don't have to worry about matching bronzes between the wheels, sway bars, and valve covers.

thanks, rburch. I'm almost positive I'm going to keep it wingless. Yeah, I'll be sacrificing downforce, but it looks a lot cleaner (besides, I doubt I'll be going to a road course or do any spirited driving at 100+ where I'd actually need downforce anyway).
And yes, josh... as of yesterday, you're officially right about me not having a wing lol

Looking good man!!! A clean car is a happy car!
Are the side mirrors one piece or two? I think it would look sick (if they are two piece) to paint match them to the car.
Something like this: (I hope to get to doing this this summer, so it's only photoshoped for now)

Unfortunately, the mirrors are one-piece. Next summer, I plan on getting 03-04 Cobra mirrors, which I believe are two-piece mirrors, and they'll be painted to match.
Basically, here's the front bumper/mirrors I'll have:

And the side skirts and side scoops (actually, the 99/01 and 03-04 cobras seem to have the same skirts... I always thought the 99/01 cobras had normal skirts lol).

Also, I plan on putting my current front lip on the car, so the bumper will basically look like this, only less gold and more red lol:

Also, here's the wheels I'm getting (since I don't think I've posted a pic of them yet) on an s14. I'm debating between black and sports bronze, leaning towards the bronze but I'm not sure how it'll look on a red/black car, so I might just do black. The wheels will be 17x9 with a +25mm offset (275/40-17 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW2 tires) up front with 18x9.5, +25mm offset (275/40-18 BFGoodrich G-Force T/A KDW2 tires) out back. And yes, the tires are going to be more expensive than the wheels... that's how I roll =P

*edit: also, in case nobody checked the front page, the wheels (and sexy cobra brakes behind them) will be on the car this year (most likely late summer or early/mid fall... perhaps winter. I'm moving the KY in late june/early july, and there's no real winter there... nice wheels on the car year round ftw!), and the front bumper, side skirts, mirrors, side scoops, carbon fiber hood, and carbon fiber trunk will all be on the car next year (probably late spring to early summer). I'll be driving up to NY to have my friend paint everything... it'll be a good road trip, but worth it... the kid knows what he's doing with painting/body work, and I'm sure he won't charge much. Also, the car should be slammed (and judging from the roads in Lexington (glass smooth), I do mean slammed) by late summer to mid fall this year.
*another edit: Actually, I might get Falken Azenis RT-615s (275/40-17s in front and 295/40-18s in back). I like the tread pattern, the reviews I've read have been good, and they'll be almost $100 cheaper lol
