Yeah, I could get everything done in an hour or so. But I'd rather take my time, let the coats properly dry, sand everything nice and smooth, etc.
Besides, the wheels have been done for an hour or so now; I'm waiting on the clear on the rear sway bar to dry before I throw the wheels back on. I figured while I was waiting for the paint on the rear wheels to dry, I might as well do something, and since the rear wheels were already off, I figured I'd do the rear sway bar.

And the car's back together for today
First off, here's my makeshift spray-booth. I must say, it actually worked quite well to keep paint dust out of the garage and to keep the house from smelling like spray paint.
What's nice is the paint managed to keep a little of the metallic look from the stock paint. You can sort of see it here:
And of course, the wheels are painted inside and out. Trust me, it was a lot of prep work.
Also, a little thing I discovered when I started spraying the gold on the sway bar... the gold paint I have is slightly translucent. Upon discovering that, I had an idea that worked quite well... if it helps you guys guess, I had a can of red paint left over from the side scoops. And yes, I plan on doing it to the front sway bar and valve covers
it's hard to see in pictures, but you can still kind of see it.
Here's a closer look:
Depending on the angle you look at it, the paint changes from gold to bronze to red
*edit: (I don't know why I'm bothering to add this since everyone here is retarded anyway, but... ) Yes, I'm aware the car has a 4x4 stance. It won't be nearly as bad when the springs settle, but it's still there. If anyone would like to donate the $3k for me to do the suspension, I'll gladly lower it ASAP. If not, shut up about it.

I Like how they came out good work reaper
#506
Thanks, man
To be honest, they came out much better than I thought they would. I figured they'd come out looking... well, cheap. I'm definitely glad I went with semi-flat instead of flat black. I know if I'd have used straight-up flat black they would have come out looking pretty bad.
Tomorrow I'll have the valve covers and front sway bar painted. Actually, everything should be done by early afternoon, if not earlier. There's not much surface area on the sway bar and the valve covers are (for the most part) smooth, so prep work and sanding shouldn't take long.
