It was recommended to me by a very knowledgeable professional audio installer (audiophyle_247 on solsociety), and I have had this same recommendation from at least two other pro audio installers, who all own del Sols.

This amp doesn't get very hot anyway. Where it was mounted before, it got hotter from the car sitting in the sun all day than it does from being used to power the subs... and that wasn't very hot at all, just warm to the touch.

If it matters... there's a large air pocket on each side of the amp (to the left and right of the amp) where that bulge in the carpet is.

well that still cannt be good for the amplifier to be so confined in that space...

i would use some kinda hole punch and punch some holes out in the top and bottom areas so it can breath alittle at least...

New taillights... JDM y0!
No, but for real, they are JDM, but that's not why I got them. They just happen to be the cleanest del Sol taillights available. Nobody makes aftermarket del Sol taillights that aren't ricey, so the only options are stock, blacked out, and JDM. My VHT was fading and I was tired of messing with it so I got these for a good deal. The difference between these and USDM is that they lack a side reflector, making them look a lot cleaner.

Could you post a picture of the difference between the OEM ones and the JDM ones.
