Yeah there's going to be a lot of dissasembly involved. After seeing my friend's V2 installed I thought it would be a 20 minute job. Not so much!

The good thing is, I now have a whole bunch of stuff lined up to do at once: intake, new grille, and maybe a re-attempt at the brake job; so I'll have the whole front end apart at once. Plus I cleaned my garage yesterday so I might actually be able to work in there (and not worry about rain). PLUS it will be labor day weekend, so that's three whole days to get it all done!!

Sorry for the thread-jack

jnoh, the V2 is sorta its own kinda intake, depending on the application it could be more like a CAI or SRI. So to answer your question, its neither, it just is. lol

I thought the V2 was more like an SRI for the civic?
I believe the AEM CAI's are like a SRI only for the 7th gen Civics even though AEM call them a CAI.

I've had the AEM V2 for about a year, just a week or so ago the arm that's welded to the intake that bolts into the block to keep it from wobbling all over the place cracked off completly. I'd like to show pictures, but don't have a digital cam-rah. It's a good product, however I do not think that AEM anticipated the amount of movement that the engine is subjected to with hard driving. Also, it's not very loud at all. If you're looking for that classic intake sound, you won't find it on this one. It's more of a deeper rumble.
