would a ebay test pipe do the job? i already have a fart pipe, if i get the test pipe would it give the same hp increase as a cat-back? i'd need to get a test pipe with the cat-back to increase flow right?

A test pipe alone wont do much at all, maybe 1-2 whp. Get a catback along with it to get rid fo the fart can also at least. Also you might wanna check the legality of a test pipe in your state. Your car might not pass inspection/emissions with one if your state has Inspection/emissions.

 

i got a test pipe off ebay and it does the same thing as a test pipe purchased anywhere else for more money
