Default Intake

Where I live, we get quite a bit of rain and snow at times. Cold Air Intake: Bad or Good idea? Has anyone had any problems, or would I have to drive in a rather large puddle? If bad idea, is there anyway to keep water OUT.

Thanks

if you have no wheel well liners like me to cover the compartment the intake filter goes in, then very bad idea, otherwise, there's still the risk but much less if you have it covered up

The entire intake filter would have to be submerged before you have to worry about hydrolocking the motor. If you are that worried about it, look into getting something like an AEM bypass valve.

Intake wont gain you any power, just so you know.. But a short ram will be safer. the bypass valve isn't worth it on a lil civic engine. Period.
