Default Just alittle louder then stock exhaust ?'s

On my 98 HX I am pretty sure the stock exhaust size is 1.5"? I am looking for a muffler where I could just chop off the old stock muffler and clamp the new one in. Everything out there seams way to big for what I want, I am looking for a max outlet of 2.5" I would more prefer 2.25" but that seams impossible. So any help here on where I should look, cause I have tried everywhere I know and came up empty.

Thankyou
Charles

no matter where you look its going to be to big..when you go get it installed, the guys weld on a bigger piece of pipe to your stock pipe then install the muffler to that..just buy the muffler you want, they will be albe to install it

I was looking for a small sized muffler so it wouldnt sound like ***. I am a domestic guy with a 5.0 Mustang that has shortie headers, flow tubes for cats, and two dynomax mufflers. I am looking not to get my Civic loud, but to get alittle more volume then stock, so I can atleast hear the engine alittle from the inside of the car. The research I done makes it seam like one of those recirculateing (two loop) mufflers would fit the bill for me. The only problem is the one I found is for a hatch, but like you guys said the exhaust shop can make it fit. So oh well guess I gotta do some more reading, feel free to add some more info here to give me some more stuff to think about.

hmm well if you're looking at a twin loop then you should get a catback made for you anyway. a little performance plus near stock sound since you have the double loop.

I think this twinloop is a catback http://www.actiontrucks.com/pdf/performance5.pdf , its on page seven part #MTP330. Is there a big difference between the catback for a hatch and one for a two door?
