im planning to buy a full cat back but im not yet decided which one of the two is the best megan racing drift spec or a magnaflow 96-00 1.6L 1-4, Sedan/Coupe, EX, Si, rear exit, 2.25" SS tubing, 4" straight/p-SS tip .im here in newyork ,im not sure if its legal here, speciallythe megan racing spec although i only hear and read good reviews ,im still worry its not gonna work here in new york,

I noticed also on megan racing drft that it will not come with the catalytic conv.(its mean that im gonna used what in my car?)my car is civic ex coupe 2000

can someone help me specially if its legal on the street of new york?

 

go with magnaflow, part #15646, and a high flow cat, not sure which brand about that. No cat converter=illegal for street use and basically offers no power increase. Cat converter=street legal, keeps sounds decent, doesn't fail inspection

 

Not to mention.. A high flow cat, like Random Technology gives maybe about 2~4 more hp than compared to a test pipe.. Well, 2~3 would be more realistic. I mean, it might cost a little bit more, but it would be more worth it.. Less ricey of a sound, nice deep, rich tone. Not to mention you'll pass with ease when inspection time comes around.

 

The stock cat really isn't that restrictive; I kept mine in place when installing the Magnaflows (my kind of deep tone). I would say that the Magnaflows are definitely leagal in any state. Find out how loud the Megans are and then check the NY code for vehicle sound emissions.

 

its 3-0 ,for magnaflow,this forum really a big help.i think ill be good in magnaflow,i like the them both but i want to hear from you guys about the two exhaust,and im not sure about megan racing here in new york is legal as far as my observation its louder than magnaflow,.

anybody here in new york using megan racing full catback?
