in side i have a d16y5....dont have cash for a swap right now...wanted to know if any sohc headers would fit on it...i know it wouldnt do much but got one laying around...do i need to use the mid pipe were the headers meet the cat...or can i use my stock one...the stock downpipe is 2-1...sohc header is 4-2....so it should line up right...any help would be cool...

alright so it sounds to me like you have the EX exhaust that came with the car, but the D16Y5 engine. The reason I asked is because the car the D16Y5 comes in has the catalytic converter in front of the engine. It's fine setup like you have it now, I just needed to know though.
The rest of your question isn't too clear... what kind of header do you have "laying around" that you are wanting to use? If it's aftermarket, I don't believe that you can bolt the stock downpipe to it.

It will line up at the head it just probably won't line up with the stock downpipe. A 2-piece header consists of both the manifold and downpipe though. Is that what you're saying you have or do you only have the top half?
