Default new intake but...

i had installed my new short ram intake this weekend, it's a bomz intake for his celica, (the only difference is the bend in the pipe), anyway i decide to leave my stock rubber part, look in picture, and just attached the intake on the end. works fine, but i hear a bit of a whistle, when it's idling, when i rev it at, it goes away, watch video, i asked someone about it and he said 'thats what it's supposed to sound like, thats your manifold you hear.' i don't know.

You should have a type of whistle sound, um I dunno how to explain it but yes you should notice a type of difference in sound. Not so much inside my car but when I let others drive it and its at idle I can hear like a hissing sound maybe. Like I said I don't know how to describe the sound. I notice the sound a lot more at night then I do in the day.

I however have a CAI and I don't know if hearing the sound is different between CAI and SRI, prolly hear a lot more from the SRI since its much closer to you and not hiding down in the fender.

i did the same thing as you except i just bolted it straight on to the factory tube.i know what you are talking about and it is because with the stock intake tube you cannot get a good seal around anything.

The sound is the intake sucking in the air, and when you rev you still hear it, but the engines usually making more noise so its hard to pick up the faint whistle, but its a cool sound, it makes the car sound diffrent from a stock engine, which is good lol
