I have a 99 spec JDM Type R B18C which I am dropping into my 1999 Civic EX, which I am attempting to make compliant with California emissions standards. For the life of me I can't find a stock USDM ITR header, so I went in search of alternatives.

No one makes an aftermarket CARB legal header for a 2000-2001 ITR according to local shops. Unless you can show me the EO# don't bother suggesting The only way to please the BAR refs is to rock 100% stock

The advise I got from hmotorsonline.com was to get a GSR header to fix my non-compliant JDM 5zigen header pollution maker and killer of small babies. So I found a guy on Craigslist selling his 98 stock GSR header for $35 so I picked it up. Catch is he didn't have the downpipe, just header and heat shield. So my question: Which down pipes will work with a GSR header? Will an LS or ITR downpipe bolt up to a GSR header? I just want to know my options. Chances are I might be able to find the right part at a junk yard with a little luck

The answer to this is probably no, but I'll ask: will my D16Y8 down pipe fit?

Yeah major bummer. I checked out two pick and pull yards with no luck. I would be very sad if I had to go to Acura to get the part, that would be painful...

 

Have you tried the Honda-tech marketplace? Lots of people here are members over there too. www.honda-tech.com and www.hondamarketplace.com Join that forum and shop around. People have what you need for sale, you just have to hunt for it.
