Default sound from tb

theres a whistling sound coming from my throttle body/intake area. Im 90% sure its the throttle body. It does it at idle, when i rev past say 1500 rpms it goes away. Any ideas? I heard it could be from the throttle plate not closing all the way. how can i adjust it? could that cause Hp loss?

if you have an aftermarket intake, then it's normal

if you don't, then there's an air leak

well, the throttle body makes that noise on it's own. that's why the oem stock air box is so quiet because of it's size and the plastic material soaks the vibration from the noise. sri's and cai's are usually made from aluminum, which doesn't soak the sounds as much, plus it's less restrictive making for higher pitched noises to be heard.

you must have misunderstood. It did make the same sound with the stock airbox connected.

plus if you tap on the top of the throttle body you can hear a slight rattle sound... and when i get into higher rpms theres a very loud rattle which im thinking is the throttle body.

is your throttle cable loose, or is the butterfly swivel loose?

Mine whistled when I put the stock box back on last winter... and I discovered that I hadn't plugged a sensor in...

all my sensors are plugged in everything together i think its a prob with the throttle body itself.... is there anything i can do to fix it? what would it take to *overhaul* it? i guess thats how i should put it but can i do anything by taking it apart? maybe adjust the butterfly or anything?
