ok i have headers and a hi flo cat but i have the stock pipe from my cat to muffler
i dont like the sound of the muffler and i want to know what would be the binefits of just getting a straight pipe from my headers back
and what size pipe should be used in such a case

 

this has been gone over many times.....but it would be ridiculously loud and annoying, it wouldnt sound good at all. If you're gonna go custom from hte catback, get 2.25" piping, a nice long resonator (Magnaflow makes a good one) and then a name-brand quality muffler, again, Magnaflow makes a nice one. So does Apexi, GReddy, DC, and Netami makes awesome twin-loop mufflers. You'll get a nice sound and added performance. Straights pipes are a horrible idea though [:'(]

 

well if you are removing your cat, then chances are its illegal and like flip said, its annoying and you soundlike a pissed off hornet. Dont do it

 

oh i didnt even see the part about the cat, keep the high flow cat. Go from the catback with the 2.25" piping
