Default taking the cat...period.

would running with no cat at all be a good or bad idea? cuz i kno on my old dakota i just ran stright pipes off the headers and it was fine but i dont know about a civic.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the only drawback to removing the cat is that you're polluting more and won't pass emissions (really only applies in california) Other than that it should be fine.

The damn civics still produce less emisions without an exhaust comapred to a full sized truck with an exhaust basically.

If your O2 sensor is on the cat youll never be able to get the CEL to go off. Be prepared to see that little light that stresses us all out on every time you drive your car. Just buy a high flow cat and keep the CEL off.

not true, all you need to do is get an o2 simulator which is only recomended for the secondary o2 i.e. in cat, unless your boosting or anything i wouldnt' do it all you will gain is noise, and a bad smelling exhaust, but if your boosting its supposed to help quite abit

thanks guys, ya theres no inspection on emmisions in SC. anyone know where to get this "simulator" from?
