Default 2000 front end??

okay so im looking into getting an evo2 style front bumper and a different rear bumper but my friend told me that my civic has a 2000 front end. But its a 1996 so he said they must have put it on somehow but its a 2000 front end he swears it. And as you guys know i cant ask the guy i bought it from... Long story for those of you that dont know. So here are some pics of it, let me know guys im planning on ordering a new bumper this week and want to make sure i order the right one.

Thanks alot in advance, Eric.

hes right, thats a 99-00 front. The 96-98 bumpers dont have the 2 side indentions on them. I have a 98. You have to get a whole front end to swap it, bumper, fenders, grill, and a hood.

It really depends, Im sure it could fit, but your car is a 96, so maybe you're better off going with a 96 styled bumper, but maybe he re did things for the 2000 bumper to fit right and such.

I honestly wouldnt even change the bumpers.

the reason why im changing it is because its broke, one of the mounting points is toast and its got 2 huge cracks running up the bumper from the bottom on both sides. The rear is worse, it was backed into and its fiberglass so its pretty bad off too.

You need the 99-00 bumper. When you do a conversion like that, you need that years parts, not what year your car is. If you bought the 96-98, it wont match up with the fenders, hood, and grill. So just consider any part needed for the front end a 99-00.

You need a 99-00 bumper. If you wanna buy a 96-98 bumper, your gonna have to buy the hood, fenders and the little grill.
