Glow Needles and LED lit gauges (56K warning)
Well after a long delay I finally finished my gauges, I did the mod with the blue led flex strips a while back but I never go around to finishing the UV reactive needles.......but it's now done.... (warning--crappy cellphone pics ahead)
^^Full bright^^
^^Full Dimm (on the led's)^^
Might not look as good but damn are they sexxy and I love the glowing needles cause they have an OEish look...
And no matter how many times I tried they won't post in the size I've got them re-sized in on photobucket.....I do have them scaled for "message boards"...

RE: Glow Needles and LED lit gauges (56K warning)
The needles are sprayed with Clear Neon, a UV or black light fluoresent clearcoat. I sprayed the needles with several light coats and then replaced the upper down lights on the outside of the gauges with 4" uv cold cathodes (with thier protective tubes removed [&:]) to cause them to glow.
I personally like the black look of the gauge faces on the civics and I'm gonna get the Autometer cobalt gauges which almost match the oe gauges....
The only difference between the two pics is the led's are dimmed in the lower, you can tell by how less lit the 60 120 and temp gauge are.... it's alot more noticeable in person but hard to capture with cell phone cameras.
