Default License plate light upgrade ?

I have a 99 civic sedan dx. I wanted to upgrade my license plate lights to a more whiter color, not necessarily brighter. Any suggestions ?

Sylvania's bulb replacement page lists the license plate bulbs as being 168 (5watt) wedge bubls. You could easily replace them with any number of led 194/168 bulbs in a white color. Or you could get the blue glass bulbs that will light up a white color but I've only seen places online that sell them in the 168 (5watt) form.....

Front or rear?

In the rears you must either use red or yellow. In the front you can most of the time get away with hyper white blubs or white led's but again depending on the cop and/or the inspection shop that can easiliy be a no no........
