Default new custom grill idea.... what you think?

well here it is... was wanting to get a OEM SI front grill BUT seeing how everyone is already doing them and OEM ones are hard to find cheap... and since i hate MOST aftermarket body parts..
SO decided why not make my own outta a oem cheap grill

here is the idea.. take the standard grill.. cut out all the inner plastic cross points... molding the sides smooth and flat as well as any other parts that need to be flat that i have to cut out. then wraping this grill material behind it for a somewhat SI look BUT still having a custom look to here...
and as always.. custom/HOME MADE

what you guys think? will it look alright when done.... put down your votes and ill be sure to post up some progress pics

and this will be molded right no bondo and no fiberglass.
liquid plastic
main reason for making my own is one only paid 30bucks for this stock grill... have pleanty of liquid plastic left from my trucks dash remold job, and had the steel grill material left over from my old jimmy so besides the cost of the grill is the only $$ outta my pocket

heres pics of my past grill and dash remold job.

before

after

larger pictures of the grill material... click here to see the grill design material beter.

hopefully that will give ya a idea of what i want to do.
very similar to my jimmy grill i did. have it counter sunk back.....
ill be cutting out the middle cross bar along with the whole H logo and remolding over the middle crossbar whill ill be cuting out on the sides.
the white part will not be cut or used! i just got it with the grill ill be cuting and remolding the black part and repainting it black.

should be fun....

who thinks i can pull it out my @ss

on the 97-98 civics they are easy to do because there is lots of room between the back and the front, on the 99-00 civic the grill is more of a pain to do that with, but can be done..mxs did that to her grill, looks good..i tried to do it when i got my car and couldent get the grill to fit, but i like mine better without it, one day i might get the sir grill
