Smile Paint question - Trim

Here is the before picture of my husbands car

We're painting it this color - I know it's bright, but yellow is his favorite color, he's talked a lot about painting his car this color and from the pictures I've seen, it will look pretty badass in yellow.

The engine bay is already painted gloss black.

I'm looking for opinions on what color to paint the following:

Side mirrors
Under side of the hood - The part you will see when you open it up
Front and rear lip
Door jams
Side trim (both the bottom trim and the plastic piece that runs down the side of the car - you can see it in the before picture, it's already black - or should we just remove that piece altogether?)

My husbands best friend (for going on 14 years) says to do all that in black - But my father in law thinks we should paint everything, except the front and rear lip, yellow.

Advice please!

Also, the whole interior is black, the rims will be black and he will eventually be getting a carbon fiber hood.

Regardless of the color, I think most everyone here will say that you should paint ALL of it the same. Match everything you listed, even the lips, and it will look very clean. If you really don't want to match the lips and side skirts, black will do fine on them and you could paint the door trim black just to add some contrast. But DO paint the mirrors yellow too.

I would paint everything yellow. I agree that the yellow EG hatches I have seen look sick. I wouldnt paint the side moldings, side skirts, and lips black unless you get a carbon fiber hood. Then the contrast would be nice. And like the Hobo said, paint the mirrors yellow reguardless.

While I think everyone is entitled to an opinion, trustdestruction, I really don't care if you like yellow or not. That wasn't my question. . .

And plethoric33, we are eventually getting a carbon fiber hood - probably in a few months - There are just so many styles, I want my husband to be able to pick out the one that he likes - I don't want to make that decision for him. That's why we were leaning towards doing the trim in black so it has the contrast and will look even better when we get the hood put on.
