Default Paint... What to do

So at this point I really need to stick it out and save my money for paint. My car was involved in a hit and run that i fixed myself last year. The car is red but has primer black hood and front fenders. I need to decide the best and most efficient way to paint it with the exception that I only work part time and pay my own insurance. I want the car all red again and want to know the best way/place to have it done. There are a few places here and there around the car that need to be painted too, so painting the whole car itself is my most favorable option.

do you want the cheapest route for the paint job or would you be willing to pay more for the best paint job?

you can prep the car yourself, sanding and primering and taking it to Maaco for their $500 paint job. or you can just take it to any shop and take a look at the work they do to decide on wheter to paint your car there or not. this would probably be around $1500-$3000

Thats the thing. I have heard so many mixed feelings about Maaco. I am willing and have the knowledge to do all the prep work but i want the paint to atleast last the amount of time i have the car and finish an extensive list of modifications.

With the time it takes for me to save $3000 i would much rather sell the car cheap and get another eg. So that route is a little too distant for my preferences.

You cant go by hearsay about Maaco. Everyone is different just like any other paint shop. Some of them have good painters who take more time and others don't. The one near me happens to have good painters and is pretty well respected for the most part by actual customers. Where as I know of another that has painted the same foxbody mustang 4 times and it still has runs and streaks in it.

Nah keeping it red for the fact that I dont have to change the registration and if i was gonna do another color i would want to do inside and out including engine bay, door jambs, etc... So red it is.

I just got my JDM thin style moldings and new doorhandles and locks
