shifter removal on an '05 LX

Default shifter removal on an '05 LX

Hey all

How do I remove the shift **** on a 2005 lx-g?? I tried twisting it and it seems that the whole shift lever is twisting. I am affraid to break something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

counterclockwise...hard. you need to break the locktite that the factory uses, then it will spin freely.. assuming ofcourse that you meant a manual tranny shiftknob..

Thanks for the advice.

there is a plastic ring that snaps up into the factory ****. the ring has the leather boot fastened into it. How do I adapt this factory boot to the aftermarket shifter ****?

Get this part from your Honda/Acura dealer- 08999-BAK-100
It should be around $6. It goes under the shift **** and has clips to hold the boot up.
