suggestions
Hi guys.. I'm new to the forum, first post, and i hope to become a more active participant in the future.
I am about to purchase my first Civic. It is a 2000 Civic LS. I'm getting a great deal on the car...
The only problem I have is how plain the interior of the LS is. I was looking for some suggestions that may make the interior more comfortable. Also does anyone know of any kind of center console arm rest extension? It's a little short, and so am i, so my arm falls off heh. Or more comfortable seats.
The LS is just a bit plain and I'm curious if there are any pretty common simple interior/exterior mods people make to these that aren't over the top body kits.
Since I'm getting such a great deal on the car i'm going to have plenty of money left over to make it my own. The first thing is it's getting its windows tinted.
and here is a pic of the plain little car as I'm it will be handed to me.

thanks guys.. consider this my official hello.

welcome to HCF!
you can swap out the seats with something from an integra, i've heard RSX seats are really comfy. You can upgrade your headunit and speakers, that should bring out the looks and sounds of the interior.
exterior, maybe some rims and a drop

interior: read addiction2bass's do it yourself writeup on how to reupholster your headliner, door pannel inserts and armrest, nice set of seats, floormats.
exterior: like everyone said, wheels and a drop for sure

Welcome. We will all recommend a lip kit for the outside. They're easy to add and look pretty decent. Black housing headlights are nice too. If you're fearless, you can do it yourself by baking the headlight apart, spray painting the housing black (or whatever color you choose), and putting them back together.
For the inside, 94-01 Integra seats will fit. Just swap the inner seat rails (SUPER EASY). They'll be nicer and you have the choice of leather or cloth. Color matching your trim pieces makes the exterior look a LOT cleaner. You can get color matched spray paint online.
Tinting the windows is also recommended. You can find brand new factory spoilers online for cheapish. Those hubcaps are lame because they're fake 5 lug and Hondas are 4 lug. Uh, you can get decent enough fog lights off ebay for like $40 USD. Just be unafraid when you cut your front bumper cover up. You can find a package deal on fog lights AND a grille. Just paint the grille yourself. It's easy.
This place is FULL of easy and clean modifications. Feel free to ask for ANY help. Most likely, several people have done it. Look for similar cars in the HCF project section. That'll give you ideas.

I think thats a good color car to work with. Its not seen as much so it will stand out a little more. Interior I'd just find some seats you like...Integra, RSX, or aftermarket. Exterior just needs wheels, drop, lip, grill, and tint. And like mentioned, painting the black side trim pieces to match the car makes a huge difference.
Thanks guys for all the suggestions!
I should have the car Tuesday. They are replacing a switch module to get the cruise control up and running.
You are right, the hub caps are hideous. They will be the first to go. I'll try to find that color matching paint for the trim. And the windows are getting tinted. Those will be made for sure.
I guess no one has seen any kind of arm rest extension then? I guess I'll just have to get creative.
Thanks again. I'll try to post pictures as I get stuff done.

+1 I have RSX cloth seats in my car; I LOVE them. They even have the lumbar support for your lower back, just the driver seat though. Mine were cheap too, I only paid 300 for them. They go for a lot more than that, though, so if you find them at that price jump on it.
They DO NOT just bolt in though, I had to fabricate a section of the seat rails, just the small section behind the seat has to be cut off and a new piece has to be made. Here's the DIY I used to get them to fit.
