Whats the best way to open up tail lights?

Default Whats the best way to open up tail lights?
I just bought some crome tails for dirt cheap and I want to paint the crome part black. Whats the best way to pop 'em open?

use a heat gun to melt the glue that connecting the 2 pice together, that the only thing i can suggest because i've never open up a tailight before.
