The only point I must still differ with you on is the Diesel vs. Gas debate. I just don't see this being relevant at all to the average consumer who gets out of a vehicle after 150k or 5 years tops.
Again, I'm speaking only about new vehicles.
You make a good point on the towing issue, but meh... cars ain't just ain't for towing IMO, diesel or not.

let me see -------- i can drive my veggie-oil powered rice wagen down to rice house#2--get some old rice oil---pour it in my ricewagen & drive around
