You're making a big deal out of one thread. Did you even bother to look back through any/all of his previous posts/threads? This little "episode" has been a long time coming, due to the fact that the guy absolutely REFUSES to use the search feature or even bother browsing the stickies.

As mentioned, EVERYONE learns within the first couple weeks of using forums that "you do not ASK until you've SEARCHED, PERIOD." It is a way of life on the forums, however this guy couldnt bring himself to comply.

Do these actions warrant the bashing/flaming, probably not. But this is the internet, and had this same thing happened on some of the other, larger forums, the bashings would have been epically more brutal.



And don't even get me started on Ben, that guy was trouble from day one

and i agree that Ben is a compltely different story, i don't beleive its to be discussed publicly but its more than him just being useless around the forum

 

Forty04, I think Marty's is trying to use the thread at the link as a example of a general problem that, if solved, could improve HCF and also potentially increase membership.

 

i can think of another member with the same quality's i can say its nobody in this thread tho.

 

I am not making a big deal of nothing but it seems as if there are a core group of members that are helpfull and/or have been here for a good while that dont like to see the decline in membership, posting, and community like feeling of HCF. I'll drop it but if anyone wants the forum to stand out and be different/more welcoming then we can not fall into the attitude and habits of other, larger forums nomatter how big HCF gets.

No offense, but how is it bad if 00 Integrals isnt around anymore? He never contributed, and he wanted us to do his research. I'm sorry, I'm more than willing and happy to help someone who has tried to find the answer and can't, but when you come on here and expect us to do the work time and time again, then I get a bit angry. There's no reason that people can't search for answers. He was told to use the search feature a few times and it never seemed to do any good.

 

Now where have you been??? I bet you abandoned the fake diff project...

 

Not so much abandoned it. The half finished one is still sitting in the workshop. I have just start two new projects and finished one of them.

Oh and as far as the search engine on the site. There is a much faster, and easier way to do it.
