Because I know several people that have had them and absolutely hated them. On the flip side, I know one person that has one and likes it.

I have two of them. One is a verizon bold and the other one is a tmobile bold. To my surprise - they're not the same phone, but I like them both. For email and internet they're awesome.

Chris, idea! Call your pops and be like hey can i get my **** upgraded, kthxbai! let him know that there will be no money out of his pocket just you need him to okay it with AT&T for you.

or just have him authorize you to be able to change plans and do upgrades without him being there. that way you wnt need him and you can do things yourself if needed.

and BB are the ish. i have had 4-5 BB and have never had a problem. I have the tmo BB bold 9700 and freaking love it. the best feature about it is the wifi. in places that have free wifi, i get full service with it, which includes email,sms,mms,internet, and phone use. I think ATT only does email and internet. but they have better service anyways. You cant go wrong with a BB.
