Default LINUX......... help?

Anyone know how i can get windows completly off my hard drive and reboot it with linux? i never did boot before i wanna switch one of my computers to try linux out

reformat the drive then install linux.....search on the interwebs on how install linux i dont feel like explaning

Which linux are you going to use? And, I'd recommend a zero fill just to be safe. It's like a low level format. It actually writes a zero to every sector, destroying all data that was there.

Also, might I recommend Ubuntu Linux?

I think linux sucks, but that's because I hardly know how to use it. I still wouldn't use it if I knew how to use it.

lol i good witrh computers i wanna try it out on at least one of my comps and one of mine is all filled with virus's so ill just change that one over, you know where i can get the boot disk?

and i was lookin to get fedora....

I have tried Linux, have had a Linux server running arch and have has to courses in Linux. One which used Fedora and one which used CentOS (which is a free version of Red Hat and is based on teh fedora core)

I personally, do not like Linux as a desktop OS. It has some uses as a server and I run a version of Linux on my router, but from my experience I prefer windows.

But yeah, fedora is good and what I woudl recommend after using Fedora, uBuntu and Arch.

thanks for everyones input lol i buying 5 different versions for like 10 bucks on ebay cuz i too lazy to go to friends house and burn the boot disks
