They better pull a brand new one out of their ***** or there will be hell to pay. I'm already looking at losing a good amount of money from having to have the engine replaced as it is if I ever decide to resell the car.

IDK about that... If I were buying a car and the seller told me that Honda themselves replaced the engine with a brand new one, I would consider it a plus.

You see... there are these things called "Lemon Laws"... they sold you a lemon. It had problems soon after you bought it. Now it needs a new engine. You should say "screw you guys" and make them break the contract because they sold you a bad car. Then that monthly car note money can go to the CIVIC!

The thing is, the lemon law doesn't apply to my car because it's a 2005. The lemon law is only for new cars or cars that are 1 year old.

The guy from the dealership called me this morning. The inspector was out and verified what they found...He's still saying that it's bad rings.......From the research that I've done online, rings would not cause a misfire but burning of oil. Bent valves would cause the misfire..... Now they're just waiting for the warranty company to get back to them with how they want to proceed with things.....*sigh* this is taking forever!!!!!! I've been without my car for over a week now and the day that my first payment is due is creeping closer and closer....

Legally speaking this isn't a lemon...yet. Lemon law can be applied to used cars with some persistence. I've done it before for a colleague with a messed up 04 accord.

I believe that anything that causes low cylinder compression could be registered as a misfire.
