first of all i'm 16, i pay gas, insurance and repairs, he doesn't pay for the house my mom she does work, and for those of you i forgot to tell he is my STEPDAD, not my real father, he does work and he doesn't pay for anything of mne i pay for my clothes and **** he only buys grocerys and some other s*** i don;t know, and im paying for all this s*** myself, the only help i get is my $7 an hour pay check as a bus boy... my mom makes the most money in this house, not him... i see where your coming from dog...

I mean if you bought the car yourself, then he really has not place telling you what you can and cant do to it. However your living under his roof, and from personal experience I can tell you, your fighting a losing battle. Just respect how he feels, dont bring up what your going to be doing to the car.

and certinly dont run from the situation, face it, and deal with him. Sit down and talk with him, or if your dad is like my dad, write him a letter so he HAS to listen. My old man would kick me out just for mopping his floor the wrong way.

In this case you probably remind him of your mom's first husband. He must feel like he has to be the big fish of the house. I don't know if you can salvage your relationship with him..or even if you really want to, but I'd say do what you want with the car. If he touches it have him arrested for vandalism. Personally I'd give him one warning that if he crossed my path, hit me, hit my mom or looked at me wrong ever from this point forward I'd have protective services run his azz outta town. Of course this is after he "falls" down the stair case. That's just me though. good luck, and things do get better.
