Default steps towards a mature inport scene???hmm

So I recently joined a car club called top notch tuners (TNT). Now I went to a meeting of theres and found that they are actually very organized and look to be pretty real. They also have some of the cleanest cars I have seen. Well as some of you may know I am also a police cadet for albany, well it just so happens that the police put on a car show each year called the dare to cruise which supports the dare program. Well after talking to both the police department and the car club its been set to where for the first time ever the Dare to cruise will not be featuring an import class. I find this very exciting becasue for the most part albany's tuner scene is pretty much nothing but bad publicity, ricey looking cars, street racing on the main strip and to top it all off drugs. So for once its going to be shown that the tuner crowd is notall trouble makers. what do yall think? I think this is something that really needed especially for this area.

I'm not sure where you live, but its not just your area that has a bad rep for the tuner scene. Around here, youre guilty by association and even if you arent doing anything wrong, you can get in trouble. I mean, its not to say that some of it isnt deserved because there are those people out there that race and do stupid sh*t but thats not everyone. Just recently, there was a bust of 100+ cars around here in what used to be the local spot. The cops assumed you were racing even if you didnt have a car there and were just a passenger, you still got a citation. All in all, I think events like that need to show the public that there are good responsible and mature drivers that can handle the privelage.

I mean there are shows here and organized events where people behave themselves, but as soon as they leave, they try to show off for everyone in their car with a $10 advanced auto muffler and cut springs and it really shows immaturity. In a way, it makes me embarrassed.
